New generation barge was launched on production site of BLRT Grupp for the first time
Marketex Marine, an affiliated company of BLRT Grupp, after moving to the territory of the concern located in Kopli, carried out the first launch of fish farming barge with a weight of 400 tons.
A pilot project, within a framework of which a new generation radio-controlled fish farming barge with a unique feeding system was constructed for a long-term partner, Norwegian company AKVA Group ASA, was implemented in a new building slip.
Welding and assembly of the plane sections were carried out on the installed PEMA automated panel line, which allows the company Marketex Marine to significantly shorten production time and improve quality of welding. The barge was painted in the recently built largest paint chamber in the Baltic States.
The barge was launched in two phases: first of all, the barge was delivered to the site on a special industrial transporter by KAMAG, where in July the crane with capacity of 850 tons, unique in the Baltic States, was installed, then the barge was launched with an aid of a crane. The whole process lasted seven hours.
The total investments of BLRT Grupp in the project for transfer of production from Noblessner port district to Kopli, construction of production facilities and acquisition of new equipment amounted to more than 14 million euros.
Over the past 10 years, Marketex Marine constructed more than 300 barges for the fish farming industry, which successfully operate worldwide - from Japan to Chile and from Norway to Greece.
